a step-by-step guide

Propose a transaction

Build a governed Solana action and submit it as a Quorum proposal.

Propose a transaction

Use a transaction proposal when the multisig should approve a vault action, treasury movement, program instruction, or other governed Solana operation.

Proposal flow

  1. Open the multisig.
  2. Go to Builder or the relevant app area.
  3. Choose the action type.
  4. Enter recipients, amounts, program accounts, or instruction data.
  5. Review the instruction summary.
  6. Submit the proposal with an initiating member.

Builder expectations

The builder should help operators understand what will happen before anyone signs. For now, review addresses and instruction summaries carefully, especially when the app labels an instruction as unknown.

Initiate permission

Not every member needs proposal creation rights. Teams can separate proposers from voters and executors, which is useful when operational staff prepare work but final authority lives with a smaller approval group.

After proposing

The proposal appears in transaction lists and detail pages. Members can approve or reject it according to their permissions and signer schemes.

Use small devnet actions first

When learning a new instruction path, propose a harmless devnet action before using the same pattern for valuable authorities.
